This site is for fun. Here's where I record aspects of the Isaac and Darby journey. For instance, the Art Comparison tab is a must see if you are curious about the illustrators I've used. By all means use the contact page to give me your two cents. I respond to all email.
Amazon has a program for an eBook called KDP Select. KDP is Kindle Direct Publishing. Part of the program provides for a promotional period of up to 5 days of offering the book for free. A three-day giveaway of the "Apple" provided some 125 readers a free copy. After three days of the promotion for Where Does the Sun Go at Night. Over 350 downloads took place to places all over the globe. I'm trying to figure out what this means.
The free promotion for Darby, Why are there Seasons? will take place May 10 and 11, 2013. If you've missed it, you can still steal the book for $.99.
I remain of the mind that it takes at least five books in the series to develop a real following. Your thoughts would be interesting to me.

Click the cover to go to AmazonAmazon does a fantastic job in supporting it contributors. Having said that, a bit of retrospective though proves that the support is there because it serves Amazon's customers.
An example of the tools Amazon provides is demonstrated here in the easy way that a click on this title page connects to this picture to the sales page. Art Comparison scratches the surface in discussing the illustration methods in this book. |
Click on the cover on the left to go to Amazon and order Where Does the Sun Go at Night. Note that this title is offered for both the Kindle format and the paperback format. By comparing the two covers shown here, you can see that the first book, "Apple", featured a very light and humorous art style. This is exactly what I asked Tanya, the illustrator, to do. The second book, internal name "Sunset", worked for a bit more detail. Fedd followed that direction even and suggested that I change the cover title font to what you see. I built the two covers from art provided from the illustrators which was my way to dabble in GIMP, a open source form of the ultimate tool, Photoshop. |
"Darby, Why are there Seasons?" "Wow, Isaac. Good question, but this is going to take some time." This is the third and most ambitious to date in the Isaac and Darby education series. The most challenging tiny fact that we had to address was to make the tilt of the earth understandable. We're particularly interested in your thoughts on this volume. Too long? Too complex? Did the trick? Please let us know. Your thoughts will affect the next book. |
